Yellow Creek Township has experienced another case of illegal dumping, this time at several locations.
During a recent township trustees’ meeting, Chairman Kenny Biacco reported that “hundreds” of tires of various sizes were dumped on April 17 at multiple sites throughout the township, as opposed to one or two locations as in the past.
The tires were reported dumped in the areas of Taggart Hill, McKee Road, Hibbetts Mill Road and 10th Street.
A report was filed with the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Department. Biacco reported he contacted the state Environmental Protection Agency, which, he said, will be working with the township on the matter.
