As a part of National Police Week, Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown met with a handful of law enforcement officials from Ohio to show them a high tech gadget that can be used to detect Fentanyl.
This is the same technology used by Customs and Border Protection agents.
Officers around the nation would receive this tool as a part of a bill Senator Brown is trying to pass– called the POWER Act.
The POWER Act would establish a new grant program through the U.S. Department of Justice to help state and local law enforcement organizations obtain high tech, portable screening devices.
The bill is co-sponsored by Republican Senator Rob Portman.
