Residents on Lincoln Avenue in Benwood say they are concerned about a retaining wall that has been slowly slipping, and that the problem got a lot worse after a recent waterline break.
Public Safety Director and Police Chief Frank Longwell says the city’s public works director checked it out yesterday and thinks excessive rainfall is actually the culprit.
Longwell says the city is currently working on another million dollar slip repair but plans to address the slip on Lincoln Avenue in the near future.
In the meantime, Longwell says the city will use gravel to stabilize the road.
