A search warrant was executed by the Belmont County Major Crime Unit in a raid on May 21 where drugs and cash were removed from a home on Howard Street in Bridgeport.
Officers from Bridgeport and Martins Ferry and the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office were also involved.
Inside the home, officers recovered 13 grams of heroin and $1,700 in cash. Charges are pending against one person at this time.
Also, officers with the Jefferson County Drug Task Force, Toronto Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department were able to serve 8 warrants after a months-long investigation into residents living in Toronto, Empire and Mingo Junction.
The first arrest was at 1502 Madison Avenue in Toronto. Melissa Orison was taken into custody for charges of trafficking in drugs and pending child endangerment.
The second arrest was made at 418 North 6th Street. Jason Waggoner was charged with trafficking in drugs. Then police went to the home of 29-year-old Sarah Lawson at 1105 North 4th Street. She was arrested for two counts of trafficking in drugs.
