The Wheeling Police Department is investigating the deaths of two people on Wheeling Island.
According to a press release, at approximately 2 p.m. yesterday, police responded to North Penn Street on Wheeling Island for two unresponsive people inside of a house.
Wheeling Fire Department paramedics attempted to revive the two inside, but it was determined that the two were deceased upon arrival.
At this time, an exact cause of death is unknown, but Police say that evidence of drug usage was present.
An autopsy will be performed by the WV Medical Examiner’s Office.
