Bellaire Tire shop caught fire during Bellaire’s 24-hour water shut off. The water was shut off so ODOT could make slip repairs to Washington Street.
It all started when a box truck, a pickup, and a car all collided in Bellaire near the Smith gas station. Police and fire crews were on the scene directing traffic.
Smoke was then seen coming out from Bellaire Tire and that’s when first responders jumped into action.
Lt. Tim Bell of the Bellaire Fire Department said the department was prepared with 1,000 gallons in their truck and other departments with the tanker task force arrived and provided some extra water.
It turned out to be a car that was on fire inside the tire business. The fire was put out quickly and no one was injured.
