Flash Flood watches have expired in the area, and the area will get to dry out this afternoon before another round of rain tomorrow, an additional 1-2″ of rainfall is expected.

Officials remind drivers do NOT drive through any flooded roadways and it only takes a minimum of 6 inches of water to float a vehicle away.

Flash flooding has already claimed one life, 82-year-old Doris Jenkins of New Philadelphia was swept her away from her home Friday night. Jenkins’ body was found the next morning nearly 100 yards away from her home.

According to the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office her body was turned over to the coroner’s office, but they do believe the flash flooding was the cause of her death.
