A Pittsburgh-area police officer was charged with criminal homicide yesterday in the shooting and killing of an unarmed teenager last week.

The Allegheny County district attorney said there was no justification for Officer Michael Rosfeld’s shooting death of 17-year old Antwon Rose.

Rosfeld is an experienced officer, although was only just sworn into his east Pittsburgh station a few hours before the incident.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 6.
