The Weirton City Council passed a resolution last night that gives part time city sanitation workers full-time benefits.

Weirton City Manager Travis Blosser says the rate increase for customers will be $3.94.

As part of these raises in wages and addition of full-time benefits, the 10 part-time back-of-truck workers will have to reapply for their jobs. Those jobs will be available for others to apply. Becoming a full-time employee may require more training or certifications to maintain status as a city employee.
