The House Judiciary Committee heard a full day of testimony yesterday while considering the possible impeachment of Justice Allen Loughry, who faces a 23-count federal indictment with a variety of charges, including obstruction of justice.
He is accused of guiding lavish renovations to his office at the Capitol, as well as taking home several furnishings. Worse, he’s accused of lies that extended to federal investigators.
Three security staffers, Jess Gundy, Paul Mendez and Arthur Angus, testified in impeachment hearings that they helped embattled Justice Loughry move a couch and antique desk out of his home, while evading neighbors and media.
The proceedings will continue at 9:15 a.m. this morning.
