The Belmont County Commissioners participated in a town hall meeting at the Martins Ferry Public Library Monday night.

The major topic of the night was talk of the potential ethane cracker plant that may go in at Dillies Bottom. The impact of the plant on Martins Ferry was specifically discussed, including potential employment, the effects on the housing market, and the economic impact the plant would have on the town.

Belmont County Commissioner Mark Thomas is pleased with how the possible plant is taking shape and sees Martins Ferry capitalizing on its potential.

The commissioners are very optimistic about the plant going in and hope to get confirmation by the end of the year.
