Belmont County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a vehicle for a routine traffic stop on Friday and became suspicious after questioning the two individually, and getting a different story from Craig Ayers and Megan Funkhouser.

It turns out, Funkhouser had a warrant out for her arrest in Harrison County.

Meanwhile, Ayers had a gun taken from him that was in his waistband that had been reported stolen at a recent burglary in Bellaire.

The deputy also found more than two ounces of crystal meth, money and scales.

Funkhouser is being charged with failure to appear, plus possession of drug instruments and trafficking drugs.

Ayers is charged with seven different offense, including carrying concealed weapons, receiving stolen property and drug trafficking.
