Rodney Peterson, who was accused of leading police on a 5-mile chase back in June, was found not guilty of failure to comply and had the charge of fleeing from police dropped yesterday at the Jefferson County Courthouse.

The defense’s biggest argument was stating the required safety measures semi-truck drivers are advised to follow when pulling over onto the side of the road.

The prosecution argued that Peterson had several opportunities to pull onto a safe and paved location, yet still drove away from officers.
