6,400 bridges in Ohio, many of them in rural counties, have been declared unsafe, or inadequate by inspectors, but the U.S. Senate has passed an appropriation package that will provide significant federal investment in Ohio’s transportation roads and bridges. The bill includes nearly $94 million for road and bridge improvements, $9.3 million for Ohio’s public transportation agencies.
