St. Clairsville-Richland City Schools are pushing for a 8.56 mill dollar school improvement levy.
Those for and against the proposed levy came out to city council last night as the council voted whether or not to support the school system’s endeavor to build a new school campus.
The levy has been met with some opposition. Some in attendance said they are tired of levies in the area.
Residents are currently paying other levies, some of them police levies, as well as a fire levy and a currently active school levy.
The council’s resolution to support the levy passed by a vote of five to two.
The $79.9 million St. Clairsville-Richland City School District levy will be voted on November 6th.
