A “meet the candidates event” last night in Weirton allowed the community to ask questions of those running for office.

The event was hosted by the Weirton Board of Realtors.

The event was not designed to be a debate, but a conversation where people could meet those who could be representing them.

Candidates in attendance from both parties ranged from those running for commissioner, House of Delegates, State Senate, U.S. House of Representatives and even letters from those running for U.S. Senate.

Moderator Pat Ford said the most important take away from this event is no matter who you support the most important thing is that you get out and vote.

The deadline to register to vote in the state of West Virginia is Oct. 16.
