The Brooke County Board of Education faced questions from parents and teachers over administrators’ raises. The upcoming renewal levy was also questioned.

Administrative personnel were given raises up to 40 percent after consolidation of schools and after the teacher-led strike that afforded them raises of 5 percent.

The board voted 3-2 to put the renewal levy on the ballot for a special election in February and then in June if it fails. People can expect the board to start its outreach and public education efforts as planning starts tomorrow.

Board President Dr. Ted Pauls said the board will directly address the administrative raises at the next meeting.
