The Ohio State Highway Patrol, is hitting the roads, looking for impaired drivers this year. They want you to know, their number one focus, is protecting you and every other driver on the road.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says they plan on seeing more traffic on the roads for the New Year holiday, and that means more units patrolling the area.

Sergeant Todd McDonald with the Ohio State Highway Patrol says they will be aggressively looking for and stopping suspected DUI offenders, and reminded the community at large that they can help out too by reporting drunk or impaired drivers.

Sgt. McDonald also reminded the public to take advantage of ride-sharing programs like Uber and AAA’s “Safe Ride” program.
