Hazmat and emergency officials responded to a poisonous chemical spill off State Route 7 northbound in Jefferson County.

It happened just after 10 a.m. yesterday morning  just off the 4th Street Exit in Toronto.

Emergency responders from Toronto, Wintersville and the OSHP were all on scene for well over an hour.

They determined a truck leaked nitric acid and the Ohio EPA are investigating and have contacted the transportation company for more information on the incident.
