Three local towns are coming together to help patch their potholes with some new equipment.

Yorkville, Tiltonsville and Rayland will be sharing a new infrared asphalt recycling heater trailer and an asphalt patcher box.

The three villages came together to form the YTR Coalition back in 2014. This equipment was all made possible by generous funding.

The equipment is meant to patch areas of road, not pave from scratch. One machine heats up the roadway while the other supplies the asphalt. Workers are excited to see it action.

So far, it’s been tested on Market Street in Yorkville, but there are plenty of other streets in all three towns they plan to take it. The hope is to use the equipment on the roads next week.
