St. Clairsville Council met Monday night, and once again, the city’s water was the main topic of conversation.
Two attorneys from ‘Carpenter, Lipps and Leland’ were there to answer questions about the city’s contract with Aqua Ohio. The attorneys helped draft the contract, in which the city would sell its water and wastewater system.
Under the contract, the city could buy back the water system for the price it was sold. The city would not be charged for using water if it was needed for fighting a fire, as it was originally rumored they would be.
The city has not signed this contract, however, a second reading was held Monday night.
