After months of debate on what to do regarding the city of Steubenville and representation on the Jefferson County Port Authority Board, council members reached a decision.

Council members decided that the four seats on the board will remainrepresented by the city of Steubenville.

The city will work to incrementally increase their contribution to the Port Authority, eventually going from $25,000 a year to $50,000.

5th Ward Councilman, Willie Paul also proposed changing the by-laws, so the city doesn’t have to appoint members specifically from Steubenville.
