The Ohio State Highway Patrol Lisbon Post is investigating a two-vehicle head on crash which occurred on Tuesday at 5:55 PM.

A 2017 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling northbound on State Route 7 when it went left of center, striking a 2016 Ford F-250 traveling southbound.

OSHP says the driver of the Cruze, Logan Winters, 24, of New Waterford, Ohio was not wearing a seat belt. Winters was flown to St. Elizabeth Hospital by Stat MedEvac helicopter. He sustained serious injuries.

The driver of the F-250, Harry Anderson, 81, of Rogers Ohio, did have his seat belt on, and as a result, was not injured in the crash. However, the passenger of the Ford, Denise Desantis, 63, of Youngstown Ohio was transported by West Point EMS to St. Elizabeth with serious, non-life threatening injuries. Desantis was also wearing her safety belt.

The road was closed for one hour while those involved were rescued from the vehicles.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash, but the crash remains under investigation.

West Point Fire and EMS, and Columbiana Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

OSHP is asking everyone to buckle up when they are traveling.
