The Brooke County commissioners approved a drawdown request of $28,701.51 by the Brooke-Hancock-Jefferson Metropolitan Planning Commission to continue working toward state-of-the-art broadband services for the county.

The BHJ is currently focused on getting the residents to complete surveys that will show the critical need for improved services not only for businesses, but students who can’t do homework because of a lack of broadband.

According to Commissioner AJ Thomas, the study would give the Commissioners the data needed so they can request further grant money in the future
