The Brooke, Hancock, Jefferson Metropolitan Planning Commission is making moves to improve transportation in their counties.

The focus centers on getting residents to and from classes and work.

That is why the BHJ is looking to add a mobility manager; someone who will look at new ways to add transportation services. The position will also compile all the current offerings, both private and public, and where they go, so the board can help people find rides when they need them.

The BHJ is looking to develop a pilot program for 12 to 18 months through federal funding and outside resources, and then will work to get others on board to contribute.

The BHJ will go through various steps including interviews, paperwork and a federal financial process to get started. They are looking to add the position this coming summer.
