Ohio County Sheriff Tom Howard says to expect to see plenty of deputies patrolling Interstate 70 over the next few months as they clamp down on speeding, specifically on two-mile hill.
The speed decrease comes along with construction; specifically, the crossover that starts at the bottom of the hill.
Thanks to the new pavement on the hill and the speed being lowered, major accidents have been nonexistent in that area for a while.
But the sheriff’s office is still seeing plenty of speeders, and they’re handing out a lot of tickets and warnings. The department will be doing speed blitzes in the coming weeks, to really push home the message.
This speed limit will be in effect for at least the next three years as road construction is ongoing.
