A superload traveling from Weirton to Hopedale is stuck in the Wintersville area. It has stopped several times and caused traffic troubles along the way.
The superload is 20 feet wide, 305 feet long and weighs more than 950,000 pounds.
The two biggest challenges that come with transporting a load this size is how heavy it is and dodging hanging lines.
The situation has resulted in traffic delays, and road closures, leading to frustrated drivers and inconveniences for officials in the Indian Creek School District.
Crews say they didn’t take the interstate to Hopedale because the height of the superload wouldn’t allow it.
Once the superload makes it to Hopedale, you can expect another one to come through the area Sunday, Jan. 19th.
