The Wintersville Police Department conducted a felony stop that turned up a suspect who was wanted for a bank robbery out of Robinson yesterday afternoon.
Just before 2 p.m. suspect Montague Howard allegedly robbed First Commonwealth Bank in Robinson where officials say he entered wearing a ski mask, presented a weapon, and got away with $8,000.
Police obtained a description of the car and the suspect, and then pulled a license plate from nearby traffic cameras, leading detectives to Wintersville where the vehicle and plates were registered.
They then followed the car, conducted a felony stop, and detained the suspect without incident. Howard is being held at the Jefferson County Jail pending charges.
