The Stark County Coroner has ruled the shooting death of Robert Sikon a homicide, saying he sustained multiple gun shots to his chest and abdomen, according to the coroner’s office.
Sikon was allegedly shot and killed by a Carroll County sheriff’s deputy on Nov. 16, 2019 during a traffic stop along S.R 171.
A toxicology report states that an acute amount of methamphetamine was found in Sikon’s system. Sikon was unarmed at the time.
The number of gunshot wounds sustained was not disclosed.
BCI is still investigating the shooting and will hand over their findings to the Carroll County prosecutor for review once completed. He will then review to determine if charges should be filed.
