On January 31, 2019, a three-alarm fire ripped through the Ziegenfelder’s 18th St. production plant in Wheeling.

The company, best known for its budget-saver twin-pops sent nationwide, lost one-third of its production.

One year later, Barry Allen, the President of the company, says they are close to being back to normal, they held a thank you event for employees who have stuck with the company and for Wheeling first responders who helped battle the blaze last year.

Allen says they are getting there in terms of recovery…

The company hopes to reach one-hundred percent production with the new production building to be completed in May in the same place where the previous one burnt to the ground.
