For travelers on Interstate 70 through Ohio County, traffic, congestion, delays, and road closed are words that have become all too familiar.
This week alone a busy portion of the highway has closed and plans to close another portion in Belmont County next week were revealed.
According to the West Virginia Division of Highways, the Market Street ramp entering I-70 will be closed in the eastbound direction beginning tomorrow (Feb. 7) from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and last one week.
Beginning on Monday, U.S. 40 will also see intermittent lane closures during the work week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The single lane closures will happen in the area of the Elm Grove interchange and are expected to continue for 2 weeks.
Motorists are advised to be alert for changing traffic patterns and expect delays. Any questions or concerns regarding the I-70 Bridges Project can be directed to the hotline at 304-810-3214. For additional information regarding this project, click here.
