A woman was cited after she drove her vehicle into a Jefferson County Sheriff’s vehicle that was doing traffic control for the superload.
It happened around 8 a.m. on Saturday on U.S. 22 eastbound at John Scott Highway.
The driver was supposed to exit but said she couldn’t see because of the sun glare. She struck the deputy’s vehicle while he was inside.
The deputy was not hurt but was taken to the hospital just in case. The woman had a minor injury and was treated at the hospital. She was cited for assured clear distance ahead and driving under an OVI suspension.
