Weirton police recovered a pound-and-a-half of marijuana and a handgun in a search of a house on Titus Street on Wednesday.

The Weirton Police Department says if its officers hadn’t stepped in, the marijuana may have ended up in young hands.

Found in the basement and charged with possession with intent to distribute was Stephen Boyer.

He is being held in the northern regional jail on $10,000 bond. Boyer was arraigned on Wednesday.
