The Jefferson County Board of Health terminated Medical Director Dr. Janie Culp, an infectious disease specialist.
They quickly then turned around and named Dr. Mark Kissinger, a family physician with Trinity, as the county’s new medical director. Jefferson County Health Commissioner Nicole Balakos made that announcement after the health board meeting yesterday.
She said Kissinger will be able to execute the protocols that the state department of health puts in place. Jefferson County Health Department staff will join other health departments from around the state in a meeting with Governor Mike DeWine and the state department of health later today.
