Officials in Harrison County and surrounding areas have been working feverishly after two bodies were found within the county in a span of two weeks.

On Friday, Feb. 21, 37-year old Lori Storie, of Zanesville, was found brutally beaten near Tappan Lake.

Fourteen days later, on Friday March 6, the body 40-year-old Sherry Lynn Shrieve, of Bellaire, was located. According to officials, she had been shot by a small caliber weapon.

Yesterday morning, Harrison County Sheriff Joe Myers and Prosecutor Owen Beetham held a news conference to say the cases are not connected.

Shrieve’s body was found along County Road 36 near the Belmont County border, and her death is being treated as a murder investigation. Officials believe that’s the location the murder took place.

Storie’s body was found near at the Tappan Lake Dam weeks earlier. Investigators believe she was killed somewhere else – no one knows where – and left in Harrison County.
