The state is also adapting its unemployment requirements, specifically for those laid off during the time of emergency and those who may be subject to quarantine as a result of the Coronavirus.

One of the biggest amendments to the state’s unemployment policy is the addition and clarification of those who are quarantined as a result of the Coronavirus, and those who are out of work.

Currently, those that are seeking unemployment in the state will have to wait a week before receiving benefits. The policy also requires that people must search for employment to keep receiving the unemployment payments. Both of those regulations will be waived during the Coronavirus pandemic.
