On Tuesday, a man driving a stolen car was involved in a chase that ended with a crash in Stewartsville on State Route 149.
After that, a foot chase ensued, resulting in the arrest of the driver, 34-year old Gary Anderson-Myers of the Bellaire area.
A significant amount of drugs, and more than $500 in cash found inside the vehicle — and outside.
Chief Deputy James Zusack says Anderson-Myers attempted to throw an item out of the window when fleeing. Once retrieved, officials found narcotics inside.
Deputies also seized some knives after the pursuit, which began in Glencoe.
Anderson-Myers’ new charges are tampering with evidence, failure to comply, fleeing and eluding, the numerous drug charges of possession and driving under the influence, according to Zusack.
There was also an 18-year old female in the passenger seat of the vehicle. She was transported to the hospital as a precaution. At the moment, she is not facing any charges.
A deputy was also injured in the foot chase. He is back to work now.
As of now, Myers is still in the hospital. Once he’s released, he will be taken to jail.
