Mingo Junction Fire Chief John Wright Sr. was indicted by the Jefferson County grand jury on three counts involving taking money that was meant for union dues.

The alleged thefts occurred between 2015 and February 18, 2020.

Wright, 49, is charged with theft by control, theft by deception and receiving stolen property. The case was taken directly to the grand jury.

Other inditments for the May 6 term of the grand jury include:

— William Adams, 60, Steubenville, rape, sexual battery and gross sexual imposition.

— James Cassidy, 42, Wintersville, two counts of improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle.

— Jordan Purr, 33, Dillonvale, felonious aassault, domestic violence.

— Corey R. Stinson, 25, Steubenville, five counts of extortion, two counts of menacing by stalking and two counts of telecommunications harassment, and single counts of felonious assault, assault and aggravated menacing.

— Daneshia Harton, 30, Steubenville, felonious assault with a firearm specification, having weapons under disability, drug possession with forfeiture specification.

— Ronald R. Mayfield, 35, Steubenville, felonious assault.
