A Monroe County nursing home says residents at the facility have tested positive for the coronavirus.

Stellar Care Center in Woodsfield shared the message on social media Monday evening.

In a statement a representative of Stellar Care Center said:

We want to inform you that unfortunately Stellar Care Center has residents who have tested positive for COVID-19. We have been in touch with the Ohio Department of Health, as well as officials at the Monroe County Health Department. We are working closely with these public health officials to address the situation and are grateful for their assistance. We have informed all of our residents and made contacts with their primary contacts and family members, and will continue to do so on a regular basis.

“Stellar Care Center implemented precautionary and preparedness measures early– all in accordance with CMS and CDC guidelines- including strict limitations on visitation, twice daily screening of staff members, and daily symptom screening of all residents. We will continue these precautions, and increase the frequency of screenings for signs and symptoms of COVID-19.

“We are doing everything we can to ensure we stop the spread of this within our center and our community. Our infection control procedures are in compliance with the CDC and Ohio Department of Health guidelines. Our nursing staff is educated and understands the healthcare protocols for preventing the spread of COVID-19, and associated quarantine procedures.

“As always, the safety of our patients and residents is our first priority. Our goal in this situation, as in all others, is to provide exceptional healthcare. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the Stellar Care Center at 740-472-2535 and a member of our team will put you in contact with the best person for your questions.
