A public hearing that has been long-anticipated by residents in the Woodsdale neighborhood of Wheeling is set for Monday.
This meeting is not the end-all decision of the future of Woodsdale Hill. However, it is the first time that residents in the city will be able to give their thoughts on the project.
GC&P Development, LLC is the company behind the initiative that was submitted to the city last summer.
Their goal is to alter the Woodsdale landscape to create a mixed-use village with a combination of retail, residential and office spaces.
“The proposal is to remove the top portion of that to allow for a sizeable development, little over 50 acres,” said Tom Connelly, Wheeling Assistant Director Economic and Community Development.
The project requires a change to the city’s comprehensive plan, and part of that change is a public hearing.
The hearing is scheduled for Monday at 6 p.m. at Wheeling Park’s White Palace.
Occupancy is limited to only 100 people, with a limited overflow room downstairs. Doors open at five.
If you can’t make it to the meeting, you can watch a live stream on the city’s Facebook page.
