Ohio 9 will close north of St. Clairsville staring Monday and then, two weeks later, another section will close.
The Ohio Department of Transportation will be replacing two major culverts as part of a nearly $500,000 project.
In order to do that, two sections of the road will shut down at different times.
“There will be a closure starting July 13 starting just south of Jug Run Road in Provident and then following the completion of that closure, about July 27, we expect the next location to close which is located just south of Vineyard Road which is County Road 56,” said Lauren Borell, PIO for ODOT District 11.
Borell said the closures will not overlap.
“They will not run concurrently, so we can tell folks that once the northern portion of the closure opens up, they’ll be able to close the next one.”
The detour is to take I-70 west to Ohio 331, then 331 north to Ohio 149, then 149 back to Ohio 9.
The closure will be in effect for 34 days. However, crews will still be working through the end of September.
