Ohio Governor Mike DeWine issued a statewide mask order that will go into effect at 6 P.M. later today.
DeWine said that after reviewing the data and seeing the downtrend in counties that already had the mask mandate in place, he believes that requiring all Ohioans to wear a mask will make a significant difference.
The mandate requires those in Ohio to wear a mask at all times when inside a building not including a residence, outside around non-family members and unable to maintain social distancing, and when waiting for a taxi or ride share.
The order does not apply to anyone with a medical condition or disability or communicating with someone who has a disability, anyone actively exercising or playing sports, officiants at religious services, and public safety members.
Dewine also recommended self-quarantine for those returning from the following high risk states:
- South Carolina
Please note that this is just a recommendation and not a requirement like the mask order.
