First day of classes delayed at Buckeye Local elementary schools after flooding

The Buckeye Local School District has had to push back its start date for elementary students due to flooding. Students were originally scheduled to return to classes on Monday. However, the Buckeye Local South Elementary School in Tiltonsville sustained major damage following Friday night’s storm. According to Superintendent Kim Leonard, a drain on the roof was clogged and caused water to run throughout the school. Leonard says all three floors of the building are damaged, however, they do not know the extent as of Saturday afternoon. Crews are at the school assessing the damage. Young Charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance

Travis Young was arrested by Steubenville police last week after he allegedly lost consciousness after smoking heroin and backed into a light pole at a gas station. Police found Young slumped over and unconscious in a blue Ford Fusion that was still running at the Marathon Gas Station on South 3rd Street. Officers attempted to reach over the man and put the vehicle into park, as the vehicle coasted and struck a Steubenville police cruiser. Burton Arrested After Alleged Stabbing

38-year-old Tonya M. Burton was arrested in North Wheeling yesterday morning after she allegedly stabbed a man. Police say that they were called to the 600 block of Main Street for a domestic incident, where they found Burton and a man who was suffering from stab wounds. It is believed that Burton got into an argument with the man, which resulted in the stabbing.
