The U.S. Marshal Service tracked a wanted fugitive to Scio on Monday and were able to make an arrest.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office assisted in serving a warrant at 302 West Main Street for 24-year-old Charles Deel.

Deel was wanted as the suspect in the fatal shooting of a man in Akron.

According to Sheriff Joe Myers, Deel threatened his own life as the fugitive task force entered the home, but after a 30-minute negotiation, he came out of the house.

Neighboring residents were evacuated during the standoff, and main street was closed.
