A fire in Weirton on Saturday lead to the death of one person.

It happened on Orchard Street at around 11 am. When firefighters arrived on the scene, a family was still inside the home.

Officials believe the fire started on the first floor.

Weirton Fire Chief Kevin Himmelrick said flames were coming from all 4 side of the first floor when his crews arrived. A mother and 3 small children were inside at the time of the fire, but only the mother and 2 of the children made it out.

Multiple departments responded to the fire including Weirton, Steubenville, Follansbee, Hooverson Heights, and Hanover Township.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation
