Brooke County schools announced they are going to be eliminating 48 education positions due to the consolidation of the elementary and middle school students.

Of those 48 positions being terminated, 31 of them are professional and 17 of them are service personnel.

Last night, there were public hearings at the Board of Education where some of the teachers got the chance to speak in front of them on why they should stay.

The board will take action at the next regular session Monday April 9th at 6 p.m.
