Officials with the WV Division of Highways said construction on a bridge between Wellsburg and Brilliant is expected to begin this summer.
The $131 million project is just waiting for permits from the Army Corps of Engineers, and the U.S. Coast Guard to be approved.
Officials said the new bridge will cut down the current 17 mile trip between the two cities.
Completion of the bridge is expected for March 2021.
