A Benwood man is facing a felony and misdemeanor charge after allegedly endangering his child on Boggs Run road.

Police responded last week after being told a man was pushing a stroller on the street while staggering back and forth.

People  in the area escorted from a distance James Lufft and the child safely while they went down the road.

Benwood Police Chief Frank Longwell said Lufft, 50, was aggressive with officers and did not easily cooperate.

Police said Lufft had a blood alcohol level of .18.

He was arrested for disorderly conduct and endangerment to the child. The 5-year-old is now in the care of a family member.
