A Wetzel County student is facing charges after officials discovered what appeared to be a shotgun in the student’s vehicle.
According to Wetzel County Sheriff Mike Koontz, a Paden City High School Resource Officer discovered the gun in the juvenile student’s truck with his hunting paraphernalia.
They believe the gun and the equipment were left in the teen’s truck after he went hunting during the holiday weekend.
This reportedly happened on Tuesday at approximately 3 p.m.
Sheriff Koontz said they do not believe there was a threat to the school or to students.
Officers say the teen will face criminal charges and school repercussions.
