A corrections officer at the Belmont County Correctional Institution is in hot water for allegedly smuggling drugs into the prison and delivering them to inmates.

According to a federal criminal complaint, Alfred M. Horvath, of Shadyside is being charged with conveying controlled substances onto the grounds of the correctional facility. Those substances have been identified as oxycodone and suboxone.

The complaint says, Horvath participated in the crime starting on or about March 13, 2015, and continued until June 28, 2018.
